Library & transport

The parts of a school that move: buses, books and the people who look after them.

Beyond the classroom a school runs a fleet and a library. Both are inventories with people attached, and both are usually kept in a register nobody can search.

Transport

Routes, stops and pickup times, with students allocated and fees carried through.

  • Routes with stops and timings, and the students allocated to each
  • Vehicle and driver records with document expiry, so a lapsed fitness is visible
  • Transport fees billed with tuition rather than collected separately

Library

Catalogue, copies, issues and returns, with fines that follow the student.

  • Accession numbers per copy, so two copies of one title are distinguishable
  • Issue and return against a student or a staff member
  • Fines calculated on return and carried to the fee ledger

Media library

One place for photographs, circulars and documents, with folders and a trash you can undo.

  • Folders, tags and captions instead of a shared drive nobody can search
  • Files reused across notices, report cards and the parent app
  • A trash that restores, so a deleted photograph is not gone forever
