Admissions

Enquiry to enrolled without re-typing a form, with the document checklist attached.

What you get
  • Online enquiry forms land straight in a queue instead of a notebook
  • Documents carry a type and are verified individually
  • Roll numbers and sections are assigned at admission, not afterwards
  • Bulk import for a school moving off a spreadsheet

Admission starts as an enquiry and ends as a student on the roll, and the point of the module is that nobody types the same details twice along the way. The enquiry form carries through to enrolment.

The form an Indian school actually uses

Admission number and academic year, class applied for, previous school and previous class, parent or guardian with relation and occupation, mother tongue, religion, category and caste, Aadhaar, date and place of birth, and a full address down to taluka and district. These are the fields the register and later the TC will need.

Pending, approved, admitted

An enquiry carries a status so the office can see what is waiting on a decision and what is waiting on the family. A remark travels with it, which is usually where the real reason for a delay is recorded.

Documents against the record

The checklist of what has been collected sits with the admission rather than in a separate file, so the gap between promised and received is visible when the decision is made.

Questions

What schools ask about admissions

Does an admission become a student automatically?

On admission the record becomes a student on the roll with the details already captured. The office is not asked to re-enter the family's details a second time.

Can we set our own admission number format?

Yes. The admission number can follow the school's own scheme rather than a sequence imposed by the software.

Can we take admissions for next year while this one runs?

Yes. Admissions carry an academic year, so next session's intake can be collected without disturbing the current roll.
